Tech Apprenticeship Alum Drives £1.4M Deal

When Ireoluwa Bayo-Tofowomo joined the Salesforce Future Pathways programme in London, she focused on learning the ropes of her tech apprenticeship. Fast forward less than three years, and she isn’t just participating in the business—she’s actively driving revenue.

Ireoluwa contributed to closing a stalled enterprise opportunity with a world-renowned, historic art and luxury auction house, helping the account team secure a massive £1.2M deal.

Here is how a proactive mindset, early specialization, and the courage to step up turned an apprentice into a key enterprise player.

The £1.2M Breakthrough in Enterprise Sales

Enterprise sales cycles are notoriously long and complex, often spanning six to eight months. When a critical demo project for a major luxury brand hit a standstill, the account team needed a spark to get the client re-engaged.

Enter Ireoluwa.

The deal had stalled and was later revived by the account team. Ireoluwa was pulled back in because she had built the original demo and component — and the customer was adamant that Salesforce could visualise what they were already doing. Her ability to translate complex data capabilities into real business value directly contributed to securing the landmark £1.2M contract.

Fast-Tracking Success Through a Tech Apprenticeship

Ireoluwa’s success didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen remarkably fast. Six months into her tech apprenticeship, she took a leap that set her apart: joining the specialized Tableau product team.

While her peers remained on core teams, Ireoluwa threw herself into mastering an entirely new analytics platform. Her first major test? Leading a workshop for 40 quiet, unengaged participants at a major financial services company. Approaching the challenge with guidance from her manager, she successfully guided the room through building custom dashboards.

That “say yes and learn on the go” attitude is exactly why her manager recommended her for a permanent role in May 2025, allowing her to graduate ahead of time and be offered a full-time role four months early.

Architecting the Future as a Solutions Engineer

Today, Ireoluwa acts as a strategic Solutions Engineer. She collaborates daily with Account Executives, leads deep customer discoveries, and designs future-state Salesforce implementations. She actively embraces AI tools like Gemini and ChatGPT to refine her skills and build cutting-edge demo assets, like Agentforce Agents.

For Ireoluwa, the best part of the job is the sheer variety. “No two customers are the same,” she says. “Every conversation gives you a completely unique window into how a business operates.”

What’s Next for this Apprenticeship Alum?

Having already helped land a £1.2M deal, Ireoluwa is just getting started. Her sights are firmly set on her next strategic milestones: leading a million-dollar enterprise deal entirely as the primary Solutions Engineer, and breaking into net-new business territories.

Ireoluwa’s trajectory proves that impact isn’t defined by a job title. By stepping out of her comfort zone, she has rewritten the playbook on what an apprentice can achieve.
